there are null and reflect cards to protect yourself, but no other way, and those can only be played on one house, so they would nullify or reflect any attack coming your direction from the house you played against.
and no, if that is still in the rules i need to remove it, but houses playing cards on each other don't automatically nullify. you can't buy protection with points.
