Is there a way to protect yourself? The rules seem to imply it at the beginning but then there's nothing in there about actually doing it...

Do you need to spend points, or play a card on the family that played one on you to cancel it out, or did I read it wrong?

there are null and reflect cards to protect yourself, but no other way, and those can only be played on one house, so they would nullify or reflect any attack coming your direction from the house you played against.

and no, if that is still in the rules i need to remove it, but houses playing cards on each other don't automatically nullify. you can't buy protection with points.
